About Us
StartUp Indiana is an Initiative of the Eastern Indiana Regional Workforce Board – a 501(c)(3) Indiana Not For Profit Corporation. The corporation operates with a 16 member board with a majority from the private sector. The Corporate Affairs are handled through offices located in Muncie Indiana in the Engagement Center at 122 E. Main Street. Jim Riggle, Community Affairs Manager for Indiana Michigan Power serves as Chairman of the Board.
StartUp Indiana is an initiative of the Eastern Indiana Regional Workforce Board aimed at growing the economy of Economic Growth Region 6 by growing the jobs of the region through the development of entrepreneurs. Bordering Ohio on the east, Economic Growth Region 6 is made up of the following counties:
Entrepreneurs are faced with many obstacles in moving their ideas and projects from concept stage to launch stage. Eastern Indiana will work to eliminate as many of those obstacles as possible through investment of resources and by building strategic partnerships with business, education, small business development, economic development to name a few. This website is dedicated to bringing opportunities (Entrepreneurs seeking capital) with solutions (Angel Investors seeking investment opportunities) together through our secure Virtual Investor Network branded as StartUp Indiana.
Our members are entrepreneurs, CEO's, venture capitalists and business leaders who have founded, funded and built world-class companies. We mentor and coach the entrepreneurs in whom we invest, serve on their boards, provide contacts and assist with team building, strategic planning and fundraising.
