The Business Services Division administers all
business-related responsibilities for the Secretary of State including the
chartering of new businesses, the filing of commercial liens, and the
issuance of trademarks, notaries public and summonses.
Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs
The Indiana Office of Community and Rural
Affairs’ (OCRA) vision is to work with local, state, and national partners
to provide resources and technical assistance to aid rural communities in
shaping their visions for economic development. OCRA was
created under House Enrolled Act (2005), making rural areas a major focus
for the first time in Indiana’s history.
Growth Start Project
The GrowthStart
Project is looking for early-to-growth stage companies with innovative
business models that are within the Economic Growth Region 6. The company
or project idea should have the potential to provide job opportunities for
citizens in the region.
The
GrowthStart Project can assist entrepreneurs with matching funds for
Business Plan Development, Feasibility Studies and Technology Evaluations.

with each other. WorkOne helps people find a new or better job, choose a
career, find a good employee, access training, or get the information
needed to succeeed in today's ever-evolving workplace.

Development Corporation
The Indiana Economic Development
Corporation (IEDC) responds quickly to help businesses locate, grow and
thrive in Indiana. The State of Indiana’s lead economic development
agency, the IEDC oversees Indiana’s statewide business attraction and
development efforts, coordinates state programs and incentives for
companies looking to grow in Indiana, and provides technical assistance,
business expertise and funding to Indiana entrepreneurs and high-tech
start-ups.

The SBA helps Americans start, build and grow businesses.
Through an extensive network of field offices and partnerships with public
and private organizations, SBA delivers its services to people throughout
the United States, Puerto Rico, the U. S. Virgin Islands and Guam.
Internal Revenue
Service
This section offers a broad range of resources across
federal and state agencies, as well as industry/profession specific
information for self-employed entrepreneurs, employers and businesses.
Community Education Coalition
The Community
Education Coalition is a coalition of citizens working together to build a
learning community through an education system that strengthens us
mentally, physically, and spiritually. This mission statement is at the
heart of all that the Community Education Coalition does for our
community. It has no limitations of how we implement programs or who we
specifically serve. Rather, it calls us to create a connection between all
citizens, so that we build upon each other and work collectively to
strengthen both ourselves and our community.
Danielson Learning Center
To
promote post secondary education in Henry County to improve its economic
viability and quality of life by coordinating and expanding local
resources.
Indiana Small Business
Development Center
The ISBDC
provides assistance to entrepreneurs at every stage of business
development. Clients range from individuals who need assistance in
deciding if self-employment is right for them to business owners looking
to expand overseas. ISBDC Business Advisors have access to nationally
recognized research tools in order to help clients make calculated
business decisions.
The Uptown Innovation
Center
Through
a comprehensive program of incubation, education, access to capital,
networking and mentoring, the Uptown Innovation Center provides basic
business assistance to resident businesses as well as shared office
services, T1 line, access to equipment, flexible leasing and room to
grow!
IU East Center for Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is a form of creativity that brings to life
new ideas with resources and implementation plans.
